Microsoft Outlook e-mail set-up

Launch Microsoft Outlook. In the menu select "Tools" and then select "Accounts".

Click on the "Mail" tab and choose to either "Add" a new account or select the "Fastbytes" account to modify it.

If you are adding a new account, click on "Add" and slide over to "Mail".

The "Connection Wizard" launches to help you set up a new e-mail account.

Next to "Display Name" enter your real name or the name you would like e-mail recipients to see. Click "Next".

Next to "E-mail Address" enter your full email address. This is your e-mail name taken from your contract agreement followed by:  @fastbytes.com .

In the pop-up window at the top, choose "POP3".
Under "Incoming Mail (POP3 or IMAP) Server" enter:  mail.fastbytes.com
Under "Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server", enter:  mail.fastbytes.com
Click "Next".

Select "Log on using" and next to "POP Account Name" enter your e-mail name taken from your contract agreement.
Then enter your password, click next.

Type the name (FASTBYTES) in the area under "Internet Mail Account Name". Click "Next".

Select "Connect using my phone line" if you use a modem to dial out from your computer. (If you are using a LAN, please check with your network administrator). Click "Next".

Your modem name should appear in this area. If you have more than one modem connected to your computer, you will have to choose which one you would like to dial out with. Select one and then click "Next".

Click the button in front of "Use an existing dial-up connection". Select "Fastbytes" if you have more than one choice in the area below it. Then click "Next".

Click "Finish" and then you can continue to setup the properties by selecting the FASTBYTES account and clicking on "Properties". For Microsoft Outlook continue with the diagram below.  For Outlook express click here.

Next to "Full Name" enter your real name or the name you would like other e-mail recipients to see.

Next to "E-mail Address" type in your full e-mail name, which is your e-mail name taken from your contract agreement followed by:  @fastbytes.com .

Next to "Internet Mail Server" enter:  mail.fastbytes.com

Next to "Account Name" enter your e-mail name taken from your contract agreement.

Next to "Password" enter your password taken from your subscription agreement.

Click on the "Connection" tab.

Select "Connect using the modem" (unless you are on a LAN, then check with your network administrator), and choose "FASTBYTES" as your dialup connection in the pop-up menu. Click okay and you are now ready to send and receive mail.
